I&#8217;m excited to be able to work with my program&#8217;s director as a research assistant. All of the paperwork was just approved yesterday, so I&#8217;m ready to get started and add more relevant experience to my resume. I mean, seriously? I&#8217;m going to get paid to research and work on interesting projects? Yes, please!<\/p>\n<p>I do have a longer post brewing, but I have to think about it more before I can really dig into the meat of something that&#8217;s been bothering me about the state of childhood in the United States, the lack of grit and resiliency in students (who become adults, don&#8217;t forget), and why students advocate for others (&#8220;adults&#8221;) to take responsibility for their own advocacy.
